Hypospadias
Birth condition where the urethral opening is on the underside of the penis rather than at the tip.
Peyronie’s disease
Scar tissue develops in the penis, causing curvature, pain, or erectile difficulties.
Injuries
Physical damage to reproductive organs caused by trauma, accidents, or other harm.
Phimosis
Condition in which the foreskin cannot be fully retracted over the glans (head) of the penis.
Priapism
A prolonged erection lasting several hours that is not related to sexual stimulation.
Prostate cancer
Cancer that develops in the prostate gland.
Testicular cancer
Cancer that develops in one or both testicles.
Penile cancer
A rare cancer that develops in the tissues of the penis.
Varicocele
Enlargement of veins within the scrotum, similar to varicose veins.
Menarche
The first menstrual period.
Menopause
Permanent end of menstruation, usually occurring between ages 45–55.
Perimenopause
The transitional period before menopause when hormone levels fluctuate.
PMS
Premenstrual syndrome; physical and emotional symptoms occurring before menstruation.
PMDD
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder; a severe form of PMS with significant mood symptoms.
Primary Amenorrhea
Absence of menstruation by about age 15–16 when periods have never started.
Secondary Amenorrhea
Menstrual periods stop for several months after having occurred previously.
Primary Dysmenorrhea
Painful menstrual cramps without an underlying medical condition.
Secondary Dysmenorrhea
Painful menstruation caused by an underlying disorder such as endometriosis.
Pelvic inflammatory disease
Infection of the female reproductive organs, often caused by untreated STIs.
Endometriosis
Condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus.
Breast Cancer
Cancer that develops in breast tissue.
Hysterectomy
Surgical removal of the uterus.
Oophorectomy
Surgical removal of one or both ovaries.
Fibrinogen
A blood-clotting protein that helps prevent excessive bleeding, especially after childbirth.
Braxton Hicks
Irregular 'practice' contractions that occur during pregnancy.
Quickening
The first movements of the fetus felt by the pregnant person.
Placenta
Organ that provides oxygen and nutrients to the fetus and removes waste products.
Vernix
A white, protective coating that covers the fetus's skin before birth.
Doula
A trained professional who provides emotional and physical support during pregnancy and childbirth.
OBGYN
A physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.
Midwife
A healthcare professional trained to assist with pregnancy, labor, and childbirth.
Episiotomy
A surgical incision made between the vagina and anus during childbirth.
Cunnilingus
Oral stimulation of the vulva and clitoris.
Fellatio
Oral stimulation of the penis.
Paraphilia
