Who do Interactionists disagree with?
-Sociologists look to explain why some pupils have more success achieving in education than others
-Interactionism disagrees with the Functionalist view on Education
-They do not agree with the role of education
Interactionism and Underachievement
-Interactionists focus on the individual
-This is because Interactionists view society from a micro approach
-By viewing society in such a way, Interactionists believe they are able to focus on underachievement more efficiently
-For Interactionists, Functionalists ignore underachievement

-For interactionists, most school ethos' are based on the hidden curriculum
-Whatever a school decides to emphasise on, reflects what aspect of the hidden curriculum they would like to implement
-Elements of hidden curriculum lead to the school structures
