Protein Metabolism

The biochemical processes responsible for the synthesis of proteins and amino acids, and the breakdown of proteins by catabolism.

Digestion (Proteins)

The multi-step process by which dietary proteins are broken down into smaller peptides and individual amino acids for absorption.

Urea Cycle

A series of chemical reactions in the body that converts highly toxic ammonia ($NH_3$) into urea ($CO(NH_2)_2$) for excretion from the body.

Metabolic Disorders

Conditions characterized by abnormal chemical reactions in the body that disrupt the standard metabolic process of proteins and other nutrients.
