Dumbarton Oaks Conference
1944- a series of meetings in D.C. where allied powers laid the foundation for the UN.
Yalta Conference
1945- allied meeting to plan post WW2 Europe. Stalin promises free elections but later breaks that promise. Attended by Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt.
Iranian Crisis
1946- USSR refused to withdraw from northern Iran after WW2. US pushed back via UN.

Potsdam Conference
1945- final WW2 Conference. Truman replaced FDR and clashed w/ Stalin. US hints at atomic bomb.

1946- US proposal to the UN for international control over atomic weapons. Rejected by USSR.

1955- West Germany’s policy to isolate East Germany diplomatically.
